I'm leaving this memorial for Cyrus because I want to honour him for laying down his life for me and this country. I don't mean this in a patronising way, I sincerely feel that all service personnel should be remembered in a special way even if this government does not recognise what they have done. God Bless Cyrus and thanks for trying to make the world a better place... x

I just read about this young man this morning and I just wanted to say that he must have been raised by a great family with the highest of values to seem so pure and honest in the letters he wrote to you. Even though he is gone remember that the biggest reason he was such a great young man and so selfless is because of how he was raised and loved. To his mother, from a son of another well loved and loving mother, you should always remember how proud he must have been of you and to call you his mother, and that for him to be so down to earth and passionate that you raised him right. To his father from a son who burried his father less than two years ago, I may not know exactly how it feels losing your son, but if your relationship with him was anything like what my relationship grew to be the last few years before he passed, then you made him the brave and steadfast man that he must have grown to be. My father was my best friend, my hero, and the one person on the face of the earth that truly understood me, and I am sure that he looked at you the same way I did with my father. So be proud and remember that he would want you to stay strong the way you taught him to be. To his brothers, I can't even imagine how you must still feel even to this day about losing him, but I do know that there is no closer bond than that which brothers form over the years. I do everything with my brother, from fighting with each other the way brothers do, to seeing movies and going fishing. Im sure you guys must be just as strong and good hearted as he is, and maybe even more now that he is gone, so just stay tough and keep pushing though. I am sorry if it seems weird that a complete stranger would write this way for this long, but I never have felt so moved by someone's letters as I have today. I hope that I could be as good and as strong as a man as your Cyrus,
